Wow! The title really says it all, but I am still shocked it even happened. Recently, I was given the opportunity to assist Forrest Seuser in two weddings. This blog post is all about my first wedding I assisted for him. It was a life-changing experience. It made me realize how much more I love photography than I originally thought I did. I can’t believe that I can do this for the rest of my life. I love having this job, and my heart is full just being given this chance to show what I can do in a wedding environment.
I want to begin this blog post by thanking Forrest Seuser. Without him, this would’ve never happened. Thanks to him, I assisted two weddings and learned more within the two weddings than I have than about the last two years put together. I already knew before that certain angles are better than others while photographing your models, but weddings are so important- you don’t have time to check what would look better- you have to know. Through the wedding, I was right by Forrest’s side, capturing extra shots he would need, or holding things for his clients that needed their hands free.
I didn’t realize how much cardio it would be in all honesty. I was physically sweating believe it or not. I was running behind Forrest at times, trying to keep up with the wedding pace. I was with him when he shot the reveal, for example.
It was such a happy moment when Danny finally saw Bree. These two were so in love and such sweethearts. I couldn’t have asked for a better first wedding to assist for.
There were multiple shots I got to do in the wedding. I did many details, including the rings and invitations. I took pictures of the wedding party and families. My favorite part however, was the reception. It was such a dream reception, with fairy lights hanging inside a tent, a wall even stripped with the white glow.
Not going to lie, it was so much fun, and I really wanted to dance when the music on the speakers broke out. Forrest and I did join in on the cupid shuffle, but we couldn’t miss Danny and Bree’s first dance.
But one of my favorite things to capture was her daughter, Letty.
The family and people I took photographs of that day were amazing! The energy was spot-on and everyone was happy to be there. I was so nervous, but Forrest’s energy and just being able to do my passion in a hyped environment, meant everything.
