This romantic Stonebrooke wedding features Reid and Stephanie at Stonebrooke Golf Club in Shakopee, Minnesota. The Stonebrooke wedding was floored in pretty pastels that complimented the newly wed’s lovebug kind-of-affection. Surrounded by family and friends, this wedding day in August was one to remember.
The day typically begins with getting ready, of course. The day was split between the executive golf course, Stonebrooke, and Water’s Edge. Getting ready and the ceremony was at Water’s Edge, and the following evening events were at Stonebrooke Golf. It’s about a two-minute drive away from one another, worth it for the bridal getting ready room alone. It has multiple open spots for light.
The ceremony spot gives a full view of the golf course. Reid and Steph had an arch up for their day with the most pastel flavor of florals, it couldn’t have been more gorgeous! However, the best spot for pictures (in my opinion) is around the path outside the reception building, Stonebrooke, that leads to a waterfall and side pond. The view behind Reid and Stephanie was either the golf course or its glowing venue!
First things first in this Stonebrooke wedding: DETAILS!
These might be one of my favorite details yet!! There were just so many to capture!!! A good rule of thumb is if you want details captured to go all in; add as many things, fabrics, or florals!
At the same time, all of the wedding party was getting ready.
I get so excited for bridal first looks with the wedding party! Stephanie requested a first look between her bridesmaids and flower girls. We got her into her dress in the back bathroom, which was a smaller place to take pictures at, but definitely created a much more intimate moment. All the girlies girl’d seeing her in her dress and some tears were shed!
Stephanie had a quick yet emotional first look with her dad. Then there were a few more minutes between her and Reid, giving each other gifts.
The moment between Steph and Reid was precious, one of the most intimate romantic spaces of love I’ve experienced while photographing.
The strongest spaces of love are in silence. I think this is because no one needs to say anything to understand what is happening. Love is in the air.
Now looking back, I’m not even sure how we managed to get them into this spot and out without looking at one another. They got to read their vows, felt a first touch, all while hearing each reactions to their wedding gifts. One of the cutest moments out of the Stonebrooke wedding, and my personal favorite!
We were able to hide Stephanie again until the ceremony time.
Say hello to Mr. and Mrs. YOUNG! The party went off behind bushes in the parking lot to sign the official certificate. These Stonebrooke wedding lovers are MARRIED!!!
Who wants to see my favorite Stonebrooke wedding party pictures from the Youngs’ day?
Before I move on through the Stonebrooke wedding into the reception chapter, here are some select favorites from the family pictures:
The Young’s most romantic day continues into the reception at Stonebrooke’s Golf Course. These two had such a glorious grand entrance. I had so much fun capturing their whole party. Everyone was so excited. The pictures documented were full of joy. I loved the interaction Reid and Stephanie made when they came in. They look at each other, and it screams intentional and chosen love.
Once seated, Stephanie’s mom presented the most thoughtful gift to Steph and Reid for their big day. It was so cool watching everyone’s reactions, and for me, I hadn’t seen anything like this yet on any of the weddings I’ve led or second photographed. It was a touching moment for these two, and a unique gift to receive.
So adorable! If you haven’t seen Pixars, Up, what are you waiting for?
After dinner, Reid and Stephanie were ready for cake-cutting!! The Stonebrooke wedding venue had a countertop in focal view, so the cake-cut was in the middle of the room on a higher level. Everyone was able to watch them. I cannot tell you all how much I LOVE flash in cake-cutting pictures. It takes the camera whites to a whole other level!
If you made it through this special blog so far, the aura gets so much better (if that were even possible). Reid and Stephanie had some time to themselves. They got to hang out with friends, chat and DANCE away! Shortly after this, the photo and video team took them outside to get more footage. Hehe, by this point, I think they were so much more comfortable in front of all our cameras, they were goofing around, playing with no care in the world. I think “playing” is what brings alive the most authentic and romantic genuine pictures.
Give it up for Mrs. Young!!!!
Now for the man that got down on one knee to propose!!!
Now, just a few more pictures of the bride and groom!! This romantic Stonebrooke wedding blog post doesn’t even present all of the pictures of Reid and Steph in their gallery. I love to overshoot, truthfully, I want to over-deliver to my clients to give them the best experience ever!
I witnessed the love and joy surrounding the Young’s day. Before the planned last event, I was able to document excitement and laughter from the people that care the most about Reid and Steph. Everyone was on the dance floor, and it was so fun to photograph these two with people they love. It’s so worth holding onto your photographer for a longer duration just so that these last memorable seconds can get captured.
Up next is the final event of the night at this Stonebrooke wedding! I’ve had the chance to second photograph at Stonebrooke before, so I knew couples can opt-in on a grand exit. For majority of weddings, it’s typically sparklers. I remember offering Stephanie advice on other things she could do. In the end, Mrs. Young picked STREAMERS.
This was my very first grand exit photographed with streamers! I wasn’t sure how to direct everyone to make sure it popped at the same time as Reid and Steph walked down. It also depended on the lighting effect, which everyone fixed with cell phone flashlights (so smart LOL). No matter what, wedding chaos always works itself out. Everyone popped their streamers early, so we ended up throwing the streamers back up and at the Youngs’ in front of the camera. It really was their “it” moment.
These two had the most romantic Stonebrooke wedding ever! I am so excited to see their love blossom as they continue to grow together and cross future milestones. Stonebrooke Wedding offered their beautiful setting for Reid and Stephanie’s magical day. I hope these two had the best wedding night and honeymoon ever! I am beyond grateful to have been the one to photograph such a romantic day.
